Christoph A. Aktas

Christoph A. Aktas has a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Erlangen/Nürnberg. Right after graduation in 1983, he joined Siemens Corporate Research, where he worked on Human Machine Interface, particularly Speech Recognition and Speech-based Dialog Systems.
From 1993 until 1999 he worked in different functions in R&D and technical planning and lately as senior analyst for Alliances & Strategy with the Enterprise Division of Siemens Communications in San Jose, California. He later continued as Business Developer in the Enterprise Division in Munich. In 2000 he joined Siemens Mobile Networks, where he has been with the IMS Business Line since then. Currently he is repsonsible for Strategy and Innovation topics.
Ferruccio Antonelli
Director of Services Layer Engineering, Telecom Italia
In his current role Ferruccio manages engineering and development of Service Layer components and enablers for IMS and Next Generation Networks. He has been in the telecommunications since 1989 including a period as Network Country Manager for TIM Brazil and TIM Perù, Engineering Director at mobile operator Amena, Wholesale Services Design Director at Telecom Italia, and Senior Engineer for xDSL services at Telecom Italia.
He has degree in Electronic Engineering from Rome University and a MSEE from Polytechnic University of Brooklyn.
Nigel Back

Nigel Back works within Redknee's EMEA organisation, helping to define strategy and architecture for Redknee's Monetization and Personalization portfolio. He has worked in Telecoms for 18 years specializing in IN and real-time systems design for BT, was a partner in a Swiss Telecom consultancy and, for the last 3 years, has worked with Redknee in Munich (Germany). He has a Masters Degree in Telecom Engineering from Kings College, London.
Dean Bubley

Dean Bubley is the Founder of Disruptive Analysis, an independent technology industry analyst and consulting firm. An analyst with over 15 years’ experience, he primarily specialises in mobile, wireless, networking, and telecoms fields. He is also the author of the Disruptive Wireless blog, found at disruptivewireless.blogspot.com
He was formerly an equity analyst, covering communications and software stocks with the UK arm of investment bank Robert W. Baird. Prior to that, he spent eight years at UK research firm Datamonitor, where he co-founded the company's Technology business unit and held the titles of Chief Analyst and Director of Consulting.
Pascal Correc

Pascal Correc graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paris and holds an MS degree from the California Institute of Technology and a Doctorate degree from the Orsay University (Paris). He is also a Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP). After some research work, he joined France Telecom Long Distance and International Division and was involved in several international data projects. In 2002, he joined SFR and has been working on the assessment of new technologies and their impacts on the network architecture and dimensioning.
Bosco Fernandes

Bosco has a degree in Electronic engineering from Munich, and holds an Executive MBA. He has held various managerial and engineering positions in Infrastructure R&D at Siemens AG. He switched on the first GSM Network in the World and the first GSM Network outside Europe. He was former chair of the Mobile and Personal communications Domain of the European Research Programme for three years and was the mandated chairman of the UMTS Task Force that preceded the creation of the UMTS Forum. Bosco is a member of the Technical Directorate of the IPv6 Forum and supports the close co-operation between the IPv6 Forum and UMTS Forum ICTG. He was a member of the EC IPv6 Task Force Phase I and II and is now heading the EC IPv6 Task Force. He chairs the Mobile TV Group in the UMTSF. He is also a member of the Executive Board in the ITU. Within Siemens he is currently responsible for Governmental and industry Affairs.
Luís Angel Galinso

Luís Ángel Galindo analyses emerging technologies and coordinates deployments in the Telefónica Móviles network. He also participates actively in several fora as 3GPP, ITU and GSMA. He was the Project Manager of IMS, where he coordinated all of the activities in Telefónica Móviles related with this new technology. His interest areas are emerging technologies (WiMax, RFID, Mobile Web…) and the applicability to mobile networks.
Roberto Gavazzi

After completing his Electronic engineering studies at Politecnico in Turin, Roberto worked in aerospace industry including designing and developing software for manned shuttles and satellites. Since then Roberto has spent 10 years with Telecom Italia Laboratories. Previously responsible for "Service Management", since 2001 Roberto Gavazzi has been in charge of Service Development programmes for Telecom Italia. In this last period he worked on TLC Convergent services (Messaging, Telecom Italia VideoPhone and WI FI VoIP IMS based services, Dual Mode VoIP service) with a main focus in ‘services innovation’.
Martin Geddes

Martin has 12 year's experience in telecoms and IT and a background in large systems development with Oracle Corp. Latterly he worked in product strategy at Sprint in Kansas. He is well known for his ‘Telepocalypse’ strategy weblog, cited by Business Week, Forbes and Wall Street Journal. He has a Masters degree in Mathematics from Oxford University.
Joe Hogan

Joe Hogan is the CTO, Founder and board member of Openet. He has over 20 years software engineering experience from his years with Openet, Retix Corp. and Sun Microsystems Inc. Joe was a senior architect with Sun's European kernel development centre before leaving to found Openet. He is the principal architect of Openet's Fusionworks, ActiveCharge and ActiveRate frameworks and is responsible for Openet's engineering group and CTO technology office. He represents the company in the IETF, 3GPP, IPDR.org and GBA forums and frequently speaks and chairs billing mediation, IMS and prepaid conferences throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
Stefan Holtel

In the early 1990s Stefan started his career in IT consulting and industry analysis. He also gained expertise as a drama and improvisation actor. Practicing Zen and Hatha Yoga on a regular basis Stefan finally achieved a degree as a Iyengar Hatha Yoga teacher. In 2000, he joined Vodafone Global Group R&D. There, he examines future political and social trends and explores disruptive technologies with potential high impact upon telecom markets. His special interests are directed towards unveiling the underlying guiding principles for the future of creating communication services.

Tony advises internal customers at BT Group on 'Expectation Shock & Perception Shift' - providing an enduring customer experience perception which greatly exceeds expectation. He has a unique applied and research perspective. His applied work on 'Expectation Shock & Perception Shift' includes an award winning eContactCentre, one of the world's first 3G financial services for a major bank, and future fixed-mobile convergence and next-generation services - what will this mean to business, customers and users? Most recently he has extended this work to understanding the younger customer through a technique called 'Young Customer Hothousing' (see www.ims-insider.blogspot.com). Tony has a first degree in Psychology from the University of Cambridge, Masters degrees in Telecommunications Business Management and Systems Analysis, and a Communications Engineering Doctorate from University College London.
Gabriel Iortoman

Gabriel has 16 years of experience in fixed and mobile network design and network deployment (he's worked on mobile networks for Telefonica Spain, Orange France and a fixed network with Neuf Cegetel. He has been an active member of the FMCA (Fixed Mobile Convergence Alliance, since 2005, and is now leading the Dual Mode Handset technical group. He studied in Paris and Bucharest.

Chris Lennartz is Director Marketing & Business Development for LogicaCMG Telecoms within the Mobile Internet business unit. Prior to that, he was director of marketing for LogicaCMG's combined business unit for Mobile Messaging & Mobile Internet, after being responsible for the marketing of the voice- and videomail portfolio. Prior to these functions, he was responsible for various strategic marketing and product marketing activities throughout LogicaCMG Global Telecoms.
Before LogicaCMG, he was employed at Ericsson in the Netherlands within Marketing & Business Development, responsible for the market development of datacom networks and IP services.
Gary Miller

Gary is responsible for product architecture, long term network and service planning and R&D for next generation service delivery including IMS and Fixed-Mobile Convergence. He has over 11 years of experience in both wireless and wireline telecommunications, including product management, development, engineering and network architecture. Previously, he was with Cingular Wireless where he was responsible for device technology requirements to support messaging, multimedia, browsing and downloadable products and services. In addition, Gary was responsible for device development and device testing to support 3G/UMTS and IMS services.
Ian Pannell

For the past eight years Ian has headed the Vodafone Services Architecture Team in Group Technology. He and his team are responsible for setting the architectural direction for all new major services introduced across the Vodafone Group. Prior roles have included Chief Designer for Vodafone Live at Vodafone UK and also leading the architecture teams planning the consolidation of all service platforms across the Vodafone Group into single hosting centres in Germany and Italy. Before working for Vodafone Ian held diverse technical roles with Skandia Life, IBM Global Services, Plessey Naval Systems, British Aerospace and the Royal Navy. With these companies he worked/led systems as diverse as Submarine Sonar Suites, Pension Fund Management, Radar Systems and an electronic milkman’s round book!

Colin has been working with service delivery platforms from 1997 when he started on KPN's LNP project. Consequently he has helped to architect, design and implement three different Intelligent Network platforms with different operators while working as a consultant for LogicaCMG and later as self-employed consultant. Colin joined KPN in 2003 and from 2004 he was the chief architect for their VoIP Program. Currently, he his lead architect for IMS. Within the Innovation Management Department his activities cover multi-play service delivery platforms, session control, presence/ID management and Fixed-Mobile Convergence.

Fernand Schroell is responsible for the Product Line Management of IMS based Fixed Mobile Convergence at Siemens Com Mobile. Mr Schroell joined the ICN R&D centre of SIEMENS AG in Munich in 1991. After several assignments, including Software-Development, Voice Switching, he was put in charge of the Technical Sales Department for Carrier Networks at Siemens France. After three years he returned to headquarters where he took over the Product Line Management department for NGN Virtual Trunking. Later he became responsible for Solution Management Carrier Control with a focus on Innovation Management where he drives subjects such as Fixed Mobile Convergence.
Mac Taylor

Roger Ward

Roger Ward has been heavily involved in the MSF from its foundation in 1998. In June 1999 he was elected to the MSF Board of Directors & in September 2000, he was elected MSF President. In his work with the MSF, he has done much to help achieve the forum's current focus on multi-vendor interoperability and the very successful GMI 2002, GMI 2004 and GMI2006 Global MSF Interoperability programs. Based in the UK, he started his BT career in 1974. Since then he has had a long, distinguished career in the industry holding a variety of key positions and now heads up BT’s involvement in industry for the office of BT Group CTO.
Malcolm Wardlaw

Malcolm is one of the principal architects for BT’s 21st Century Network and is responsible for both Converged Communication Services and the Intelligence layer. He has championed the adoption of IMS for both fixed and mobile networks. BT’s Fusion phone is a step towards that vision. Currently he is focused on the integration of the SOA with IMS to deliver an environment for ICT and Consumer Applications.
Simon Wright

Simon is Head of Customer Marketing within Lucent Technologies Marketing division. He joined Lucent Technologies in 1998. Prior to that he was Interactive Services Section Manager at Ericsson, where his key responsibility lied in customizing services for the UK market and product management. Before then he worked as Network Management Development Manager for IBM, where his role involved him in the migration of software from one operating environment to another. His first position was at GPT as a Software Engineer.
Dr John Waclawsky

John joined Motorola in August of 2005 as Chief Software Architect. He is responsible for leading Motorola's Software Group in concert with the Motorola Business Units, Labs and the CTO organization in constructing unified software architecture for Seamless Mobility. He has an extensive telecommunications background with broad skills and practical experience with most LAN and WAN architectures as well as project management and systems management disciplines.
Prior to Motorola, John defined the next generation IOS software for Cisco Systems and served as a technical leader for the Mobile Wireless Group at Cisco Systems. Before that he spent more than 20 years at IBM.
He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and holds thirty-eight US patents with over a dozen pending. John was the Technical Plenary Chair of the Mobile Wireless Internet Forum and a member of the Open Mobile Alliance board as well as editor of the WiMAX Network Working Group.
